I lost my job which means

which means we will not have health coverage! We were using my health coverage b/c dh is self-employed. I am just so frustrated b/c we have been ttc and now this. I don't know If we should continue to TTC. DH is looking for a job with health benefits but, I am not sure if we should continue to ttc. I don't want to be irresponsible and get pregnant without coverage.

My boss and I got layed-off and she too was ttc. I am so happy not to be working there anymore but it couldn't have happened at the worst time. Hopefully, this is a blessing in disguise. Thanks girls, I just needed to vent!!!

I'm sorry that you lost you health coverage. Can you get a COBRA extension until you find a new job with benefits?

Ditto... you are entitled to 18 months COBRA by law. I would look into it. Your company should offer this to you. Good luck and don't worry.

That is true but COBRA is super expensive

Cobra is expensive.

But to be honest, even if you are not pregnant, health insurance is so important.

My dh is self employed too, so our benefits come from my job.

For years we didn't have it and it was so stressfull.

New York State offers a program for low cost health insurance called Healthy NY

'Healthy NY is a unique program designed to encourage small employers with 50 or fewer employees to offer health insurance coverage to their employees, dependents, and other qualified individuals. Healthy NY is also available to eligible working uninsured individuals including sole proprietors. With this program, eligible individuals can purchase the streamlined benefits packages that are available to employees of small businesses participating in the Healthy NY small business insurance program. The program creates standardized health insurance benefit packages that are offered by all health maintenance organizations (HMOs) in New York State. These packages are made more affordable through State sponsorship, so that more uninsured small employers and uninsured employed individuals are able to purchase health insurance coverage.'

I think my dad is on this program. So far I don't think they've had any problems.

Thanks, Girls!

Yes, Cobra is expensive. I think I am covered 30 days after termination. I will look into the healthy NY.

My company has given me some options of working p-t (without benefits) until a position opens in March. But truthfully, I am unsure if I want to stay. I have given over 5 years of time and I am feeling a sense of relief. However, this other position is worth me looking into.

DH and I decided to continue to ttc either way. I just feel that things will work out the way they are suppose to work out. I will be ovulating this week, which means around x-mas or then end of the month...I would know if I am PG. I am fearful about an another ectopic but I figured that I will still be covered by Cobra if God forbid I had to have surgery.

I am trying to give myself one more opportunity. to get PG without getting my fibroids removed. If I don't get pregnant this time, I am seriously looking into fibroid removal which may mean at a later date once I get coverage again.

Thanks for allowing me to vent!! I will keep you posted either way!
