she just bought 8 5pc Noritake 'Centura' cream place settings off the registry! she said its our engagement gift. I can't believe the wedding is over a yr away and we already have our full set of fine chine and full set of everyday china. we also got a combined total of about $1200 in cash from his family, and a gift card to bed bath and beyond. everybody has been so generous.

seriously! at first me and his mom butted heads in a big way because she felt like i was stealing her baby boy and also she didn't want to get close to me because she was afraid of what may happen if it didn't work out...but now she's so helpful and excited about the wedding. she did seating arrangements for their side of the family without my even asking, she offered to pay for the upgrade of our room and for the flowers and to get my hair and makeup done for the wedding. FH's father bought us a 55 in. flat screen for engagement too. I am so thrilled that we have made a complete turn around in our relationship and I can truly say I'm proud and happy to have her as a FMIL. Plus my fam can't really afford to shower us with lavish gifts so its a nice treat that i'm so not used to.
I'm gonna work on a special toast to his sis and his mom for the reception to let her know I will take care of her 'baby boy'
