She came with me to my hair trial today. We were worried about the curls holding in the humidity because I have fine (straight!) hair and the weather was awful today. We figured it was a good day to test them out!
She had 2 parties to go to but insisted on accompanying me to some stores so we could see how they lasted for an extra hour or two.
Just now, on the way home from her BBQ, she called to ask how the curls were holding up. It takes a special MOH to call to check in on your hair curls!
As soon as I heard the phone ring, I said 'I bet that's Barbara calling to check on the curls!'

VERY nice - please do tell - did they hold up??? If so - what did you do to make them hold up? My hair is PAPER thin too!!!

They held up really well. My stylist sprayed them with hairspray that is specifically for up-dos (I'm wearing my hair down). She sprayed them while the curling iron was on them and then just sprayed my whole head.
I wanted loose curls (a la Carmen Electra's wedding photos). They were tighter when she first did them, but then fell into nice loose curls and stayed.
I think I'll try one of those 'curling shampoos' for the day of, too. (I have to wash my hair b/c it's too oily - stylist recommended I wash it that morning)
So far so good. It's been 8 hours. Of course, I'm getting done so early that by now we'd just about be at the reception!
We're going to keep a curling iron with us and my MOH said she'd touch up anything if I need it throughout the day.
I've been out in humidity and laying on it on the couch and it looks pretty good. The back is loose where I was laying on it, but looks good all in all!

So - do you have my hair??? I have the same problem - it's terribly dry normally - but if i don't wash it every day - it gets oily!! I'm so glad it worked for you!!! I want to do my hair trial really early for the same reason - to make sure it'll hold up for the normal 8 hours...

So - do you have my hair??? I have the same problem - it's terribly dry normally - but if i don't wash it every day - it gets oily!! I'm so glad it worked for you!!! I want to do my hair trial really early for the same reason - to make sure it'll hold up for the normal 8 hours...
I certainly wasn't early with my trial -- My wedding is two weeks from yesterday!
