Re: I LOVE YOU
I said it first....it was actually just a freak reaction to my emotions because it was over the phone...he was at the firehouse and got the call to head out to the airplane crash in the Rockaways...(Nov 2001) at that point we weren't sure if it was yet another terrorist attack, so when he blurted out 'honey, gotta run' I just blurted out 'I love you'...

elephant shoes???
You dont know that trick--Its from soooooooo long ago??? Lmao!
When you look in the mirror and say elephant shoes, it looks like you say I love you, to make the other person say it back, when in reality, they technically never said it, then u feel dumb. Lmao
LOL we always say olive juice on the phone!

Re: I LOVE YOU
he did. took him friggin long enought too. there were plenty of times where i debated saying it first, but didn't and there were times that he was on the brink, but didn't. but seven months after we started dating, he said it.

Re: I LOVE YOU
I said it in a Valentine's Day card. We both were so scared to say it because of past relationships.
he read the card and then he said it back....so who REALLY said it first??

Re: I LOVE YOU
I kept saying that I was feeling it and then one night he was like oh just say it and then I said it and he said it back
ETS..it was a scary experience though...I didn't want to say it and then have him not say it or not feel the same way

Re: I LOVE YOU
I wrestled with this for a long time- whether or not to say it first. Then a very smart man who I work with said, 'Just because he might not be ready to say it, does not mean that he is less deserving of hearing it.' In other words, he might need the security of knowing that if he DID say it, that tt would be said back. Well it took me 3 months to tell him and it took him 6 months to tell me. This may sound weird (and possibly conceited but I knew he loved me before he did. Many women have the guy who says the words and doesn't show the actions. I had the guy who showed the actions but didn't say the words. Now he says it all the time and its like the very first time!
