'I Loved Her First'... any ideas?

For my Father/Daughter Dance I'm going to have the song 'I loved her First' by Heartland.

For those of you who have never heard it, the chorus basically goes:
**
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first
**

The song is just really beautiful. I'm wondering if anybody knows of a song similar to this one, but for a mother/son kinda deal. Like how in this song, it's basically the father talking to the groom about his daughter. Is there any songs out there with the Mother talking to the groom like this? Like how she 'prayed that he'd find her' stuff like that?

Is that far fetched? Probably. But I figured that if anyone could give me any ideas, this would be the place to ask!

and here are the words to another good one

A SONG FOR MY SON
don't know where
The time has gone
Since those little boy days
Doesn't seem that long
Yet here you are
It's your wedding day
And there's one thing darling
I'd like to say...

CHORUS:
Be kind, be sweet
Be a gentle man
Care and share
And always be fair
And remember though you now
Have taken a wife
You will always be my son
My Loving son

You filled my life
With so much joy
As I watched you grow
From that little boy
Now I'll try not to cry
As you walk away
And just once more darling
I'd like to say...

REPEAT CHORUS

Be kind, be sweet
Be a gentle man
Care and share
And always be fair
And remember though you now
Have taken a wife
You will always be my son
My Loving son

My FH will probably dance w/ his mom to 'their song' which I can't recall the name at the moment.

As a longtime Richard Marx fan, I know of a rare song that was on one of his import ballads CD called 'Thanks To You.' It's his tribute to his mom. I've always loved this song and I'm trying to figure out how to use it for my mom too, if it makes sense.

'Thanks To You' by Richard Marx

You gave me life,
Gave me your heart
Your shoulder when I needed to cry
You gave me hope when all my hope was gone
Wings so my dreams can fly
And I havent told you enough
Havent been good enough, making you see

Chorus:
My love for you will live in my heart
Until eternity's through
I see your smile in the eyes of my child
I am who I am, mama, thanks to you

You gave me your world,
Gave me your voice
Gave me your everything
Each breath of your life
You believe when I can never have
You teach my faith to survive
And I can never do enough
Never thank you enough, for all that you are

(repeat chorus)

I know the treasure, Im filled with grace
Whenever I see your face

(...music....)

And I see your smile in the eyes of my child
I am who I am, mama, thanks to you
To you......
