I made a HUGE mistake! UPDATED!!!!

I asked my future sister-in-law last week to be in my bridal party b/c my FH said he would like that, which he now says he never said. Due to some past and present issues with her, I realized I really don't want her in the bridal party. How do I tactfully ask her to step down without hurting her feelings? Is this even possible???

My future sister-in-law elected to step down from the bridal party on her own due to not being able to pay for things b/c of financial difficulties . WHEW!!! My advice to anyone in this area would be think long and hard about who you are going to ask to be in your bridal party before jumping the gun on it!

well... first off, I am SO sorry to hear about your situation.. the only thing I can think of would be that maybe you want to tell her that you are having a smaller wedding party than you thought and you apologize that you had to cut some people out but you still want her to share in everything and be a part of the wedding and all the festivites..

oh boy thats a tough one girlie! First off many for you.
OK..... Personally and this is JMO - I would just let it be. I know alot of girls here may not agree with me, however -she will be family once you guys tie the knot so just to keep peace within the family I would keep her in my bridal party. Hopefully by doing this she will realize and see what a wonderful person you are and things will change.... Good Luck with whatever you decide!!

I agree with you.
She is your FSIL and it can't hurt to start off on the right foot. IMO whatever the issues may be past or present it would cause more tension to retract the offer.

We get along fine, the issue is that she's already complaining about doing things, big and small. It's like I saw this coming and was stupid and agreed to it anyway. I'm hoping she'll cooperate without giving me any more stress. To top it all off, she's very negative and bitter towards marriage b/c hers fell apart a few years ago. I'm sorry if I sound selfish, but I don't want to hear negative things about being engaged and being married when I'm planning the happiest day of my life.
