i made my menu sample with PICS!! **come and see**
what do you think?? Our friend made this monogram for us from scratch, she is the best! Then i designed the menu on microsoft word, printed it on regular white paper for now, and bordered the menu in patterned scrapbook paper and solid cardstock. Then i wrapped sheer wired ribbon around the center of the menu. It will be lined up better for the final product, i was just playing around and didnt have a paper cutter.
I wasn't even planning on doing the menus this soon, i just felt like playing around. I am very happy with how they came out, just dont know if the size is too big?? They 12 inches high and 6 inches wide. What is the average size for a menu. There will already be food on the plate when guests enter the reception. Will they look okay next to the plate?? We want to do one per person.

Any thoughts on the size?? what size menus is everyone doing if having one per person? how are you displaying them? I really like the idea of the guests coming in to the RH to their first course already on their plate, so i would prefer not to display it on the plate, although that always looks beautiful.

Were they pretty easy to make? I would love to make my own as well. I think they look look pretty if they were tucked in to a napkin or just on the plate or even upright in front of the plate.

the hardest part was actually writing out the menu in word, picking out the fonts, and getting it to all fit on the paper the way i wanted. The rest was pretty easy. I already happened to have the paper and ribbon which was not bought specifically for the menus, and i got lucky that it all happened to match well.

I like them...i dont think u need the ribbon on them though...or maybe put the ribbon between the menu & the mat.
For my menu's i am just folding an 8.5x11 cardstock in half so the measurements would be 4.25x11 for the actual menu with a mat behind it probably 6.25x13
