I finished painting our We Do letters. I used 3 different colors for each layer and was so careful with it. Then I bought this sparkle spray and it came out terrible!!! I think there was something wrong with the spray because it didn't come out of the bottle right. I tried wiping it off but of course all my hard work came off with it.
Here's my?....can I sand the letters down and repaint or should I just go out and buy a whole new set?

i don't think sanding would be your best bet..... it may make more of a mess sorry but it's true. i would put a thick coat of primer over everthing and start again.
we all have DIY trial and errors that's how you learn what works and what doesn't after all
i'm sure they will come out beautiful

I dont know about sanding it down because you have to sand all the letters evenly, did you order the wooden letters from crafty eddy because his aren't too expensive if you need to reorder

Re: I Messed Up!!! MY DIY Disaster
Primer would be a good idea unless its glossy and sparkles are raised and will showed when repainted... Primer doesn't stick to glossy paint.. So even if primed you still have to lightly sand so primer will stick.. ( This is what happens when you worked at Home Depot awhile back and you worked almost every department) LOLOL

Thanks girls...the sparkles are raised. Ughh I'm so mad I even used it they were perfect before!! I guess ill lightly sand and then prime again. I might just get a spray paint in a color I like instead of painting them all over again. I spent way to much time on this already.

Re: I Messed Up!!! MY DIY Disaster
Just in case you have to buy them again, I just came back from AC Moore and they have the wooden letters for $3.99. If you go the one in Glendale (89-89 Union Turnpike) they're having a big blow out sale(that store only) where everything is on sale and the letters are like 30% off.
