I met with my priest today...

... and the church will be marrying us on April 9, 2010

I was extremely nervous, but the priest did most of the talking, and was really nice. We're the first couple booked for 2010. He went over pre-cana with us and some other things...

We're getting married the Friday after Easter so he said that the flowers will still be up from the holiday so we did not need flowers for the church.

We'll be talking to him in the summer of 2009 to schedule pre-cana... Since FH is getting confirmed through his parish (as suggested by my priest) we'll be attending church more regularly.

NOW it feels official

You don't sound dumb at all!! It's a pre-marriage counseling required of all Catholics before they get married. Other Catholic married couples discuss finances, life, God, and other things too...

Congrats!!!! See, it wasnt as bad as you thought, right?!

My church only does Pre-Cana in the Fall and Spring so we're doing it this Fall to get it over with.
Soooooo lucky on the flowers! I'm annoyed that we we have to pay for flowers that we're gonna see for only 20 minutes

Jess- Pre-Cana is a required 'group discussion/workshop' that anyone getting married in the Catholic Church is required to take. Ours will be 6 weeks 1 night a week for an hour.
