With all thats been going on lately with fake brides and all, do any of you ever question the validity of a profile when there isnt any info about anything in the profile (just initials, no pic, etc)??? To the brides that do not have info in their profile or personal pics, please do not take offense to this as I understand some people would like to keep their identity to themselves but I was just wondering what you girls thought.

I also don't have any info in my profile for the same reason as someone above stated. A girl's hall was called and someone pretended to be her. So I am not too keen on putting all my info out there. Normally you can sniff the fakies out right away if they are promoting someone or something.
I also don't post any personal info like last names, where I live, etc.
See this is what I am nervous about because I do have all of my info. up there. Now I am thinking of removing some of it

Not really.
As far as people not listing their detailsl, I think it's just a privacy issue. If you think about it , most of us post such personal info on here, it would be so easy for a psycho to get a hold of it!!

I used to have all of my hall and vendor info in my account, but I had a person FM me that I felt was really questionable so I took it all down. As for real v. fake brides, I feel that those people who are fake brides are just envious and really wish that they could plan or are nostalgic and want to re-plan a wedding, otherwise they would not post here.

The worst thing that happened to me was actually on The Knot. I wasn't bashing a photographer but I did mention that I had an experience similar to another bride where the guy I met with was really unprofessional. Another bride said that she'd been working directly with the owner and we should let him know how his employee was behaving . Well, that bride took it upon herself to call the owner and he figured out who I was because of the vendor information that was listed in my bio. He called me TWICE. Granted he was calling to apologize for his employee's behavior, which was nice, but it was creepy to be 'tracked down' like that.

I actually KNOW a photographer who goes on the Knot and poses as a a bride!!! I have yet to find out his Knottie name but I am still shocked he even told me this!!
I know he also lurks on here but don't know if he posts

Well, I'm pretty anonymous, and after reading someone had their wedding cancelled, I removed my location site. It's partially privacy, and partially a time issue. I never figured out how to load a picture, and I never got around to adding other details-vendors to my profile.
With others I suspect it's probably privacy also (or time/laziness like me)!

I know im a 06 bride but honestly, i really don't think someone would go out of there way to 'find' me or anything... i have all my info updated, pictures of me and the FH....and u can guess what my full name is, lol.

Funny you say that because I am almost 100% sure one of the DJ vendors is a 'bride' too

well over the past months I have been on, you will see that fakies usually go to the extent to create fake names and dates and such
brides who do not put any info up are usually very much real!

IMO, this site is a great resource and has helped me a lot. but sometimes you need to take some posts here with a grain of salt.
