had 2 on the same wisdom tooth, 3rd molar. I'm finally having it pulled on Wed...

I had one on my front left tooth. It wasn't terrible. Just get some jello and ice cream and you should be good in about a day or two.

No worries- I know it sounds horrible but you will be OK. FH had it done not that long ago and only felt them pulling on their lip.

You will be okay! You might as well get it out of the way now rather than waiting and being in pain. Toothaches are the worst!!!!

I just got mine done 2 months ago and after 2 days of some pain, I was fine.

Its painless, the only annoying party is it takes soooo long and its expensive.

I just had my first one on Thursday. I had been putting it off for years because the pain would go away...well Wednesday night it got unbearable, so I bit the bullet so to speak.

Let me tell you...do not fear!! You will feel sooooo much better when it is done and it is not as bad as people make it out to be. It was uncomfortable, not painful. The next day the only thing bothering me was that my mouth was sore where the xray thingy cut the inside of my mouth, that is the only thing bothering me.

You will feel great a couple of days after!! I did it with only a few novacaine shots..no sweet air, but I heard that stuff is really great if you dont have a high pain threshold...good luck!!

I think I need to get one, too, and I'm just avoiding it. I'll say October I'll do it and then find some excuse not to. LOL!

thanks for the support! it doesnt hurt at all. i just went for a check up and he said my filling fell out and now have a giant cavity that MIGHT need root canal. ive had it for months and i dont feel anything.

heres the worst part of it all....i dont get dental insurance until november!!!! when i got laid off i got on my finaces health plan but not his dental. so now i dont know if i can put it off till then or not. not sure what to do.

how much does it cost without insurance?

I dont know how much it would cost without insurance, but I am pretty sure it can cost around $1,000. If you cant swing the cost...I have had alot of people tell me to contact NYU Dental clinic. They are students in their last years of study, but they are supervised by their instructors. I know that is a little scary...but if you need it done and have no other choice....

thats where I went when I was new to the city and did not have insurance. I got 2 cavities filled there with NO problems! The only issue is that you have to tell them its an emergency or else they make you have 3 or 4 appointments before they actually do anything.
