I miss my Dad!

Let me start, Ladies, by saying that in no way do I want to put a damper on anyone's happiness during this special time. And while we all want everyone to have a great time at our weddings, all that I ask is that noone Drink and Drive. PLEASE!

On page A50-A51 in today's Newsday is my Dad's story.

I truly commend you and your family for your strength, for teaching others about the dangers of drinking and driving and trying to prevent any other family from enduring a tragic loss as you have. If your message prevents even one person from drunk driving, the legacy of your dad will live on forever in others as it does in your hearts.

i am so sorry to hear about oyur loss - its important that as brides we also recognize that while people may dirnk to have a good time, we cannot let them drive home either if they are drunk!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

This was such a sensleless crime and the fact that people like this will only see jail time of 4 - 12 years is ridicioulous. I don't know why pople don't take Drinking and Driving seriously.

i know what it feels like to lose a loved one to a drunk driver. Please know you're not alone

Also, to have your wedding w/o your Dad right next to you, I know that will take a lot for you, but do know that he will be right there, every step of the way, smiling and being so proud of his baby girl, just like my Mom wil be for me.

I second Liz's sentiments. I lost a cousin the same way but in no way can I compare that loss to yours. I was a huge campaigner for not drinking and driving (was president of SADD in high school) and still am. I hope the message gets through to reduce such horrible losses. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart and prayers are with you. Know though that your dad will be smiling down on you from heaven. The day of your wedding you will see it I assure you! My girlfriend was married 2 years ago in Nov. Her dad had been dead since she was 8. I remember looking up into the sky as we departed the church on that cold and dreary day and there it was, the most amazing sunset filled with hues of pinks, blues, oranges!!! Michelle's dad used to draw and paint and I know he painted that sky for her that day. I am sure you will see your sign. God bless!
