i must be really naive

what are escort cards? are they the same as place cards?

if not, do i need both?

According to David Tutera........(I saw this on MFW)

Escort cards are what most of think of as place cards. They tell you what table you're at.

Place cards are at each individual place setting and tell you what seat you're sitting at.

they are not the same thing, escort cards tell the guest which table to go 2 and place are placed at their seat at the table to let them know which seat is theirs at the table...I learned that from 'My fair Weddings'..lol

I didn't know that either until I watched my fair wedding. I suppose favors could double as place cards had you wanted to label them.

They're not the same thing. Escort cards are the cards that are picked up before entering the dining room with the name of the guest and the table number. Place cards are on the table to tell the guest where exactly to sit. I don't like the idea of place cards.

didnt you see the episode of My Fair Wedding.....?!?!? escort cards and place cards ARE dif!!! escrt cards tell you guest what table they are sitting at and place cards assing a spe. seat at the table.
