Hi all, I'm new so I may of posted at the wrong place. Me and my fiancé are basically just eloping, no thrills, cheap and simple city hall, as I'm visiting him for 2 weeks from England, he lives long island. We decides to just do it! We weren't going to go the whole hog and get a dress and all but with some thinking I've decided I would at least like some type of dress seems where skipping everything else. I have been searching eBay/ Craigslist etc for a wedding dress or dress that would be suitable but just can't find anything in my price range under $120 , anyone have any ideas where to go? Or anyone selling one? Also my size in uk is 14-16 which In USA size is 12-14 I think :)

Try Macy's. I know someone who did the same thing and got beautiful dress there reasonably priced.

Are you looking for a traditional wedding dress or just a dress that you can wear to your wedding? because something like macy's, nordstrom, or bloomingdales, or really any store with a formal section, might have really nice dresses that come in white that will probably cost less then a traditional wedding dress from a wedding store.

H&M has a pretty pencil dress in white...it's form fitting and reaches right below the knee. I think it's $35

Also try the Lord & Taylor in the city...they have great off-the-rack simple wedding dresses and other white gowns and good discounts with coupons.

I know someone who walked in Davids Bridal and found her wedding dress on a sale rack for $100. She looked beautiful. You definitely don't need an appointment.
