Re: I need a good Meatloaf recipe!!

My sisters meatloaf recipe is amazing and super simple:

1-2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 onion pureed
1-2 eggs for binding
2-3 slices bread crumbs
1 carrot finely grated
Pepper
Salt

Combine all ingredients and place in a non-stick loaf pan. Bake @ 350 until done (depends on how much meat used usually around 45 minutes)

If desired cover top with ketchup and/or bacon strips prior to baking.

Enjoy!

I have tried a lot of different ways, but the best to me is still the easiest... mix in some of Lipton's dry onion soup! (The same stuff used to make onion dip). Still use bread crumbs and an egg, but I've found that this needs little else. I coat the outside with a mixture of ketchup and hoisin sauce and it's PERFECT!! Definitely couldn't be easier, too!

Good luck

I also started using the onion soup mix and love it. I used to grate real onion but the soup mix tastes even better - go figure.

I combine chop meat, egg, bread crumbs, onion soup mix and bake for about 30-40 minutes until almost done. Then I top with a small can of tomato sauce and cook for 5 more minutes.

I don't like ketchup on it although I know many people do that and I have even seen American cheese - to me that is more like a hamburger not meatloaf....also my Italian DH doesn't believe in ketchup - don't ask!

I use Adolfs meat loaf mix. It makes a delicious meat loaf.

I do mine just like Niecey but without the tomatoe sauce and I also surround the meatloaf with a can of peas.

I do it pretty much the same way but substitute SALSA instead of ketchup or tomato sauce....

Oh and fresh parsley in the mix is nice too.......

My Mom swore by Bag and Season Meatloaf mix, however she would add a small can of tomato sauce and no milk and also bread crumbs instead of fresh bread.

Re: I need a good Meatloaf recipe!!

1-2 lbs chopped meat
2 eggs
seasoned breadcrumbs
salt pepper
ketchup
onions & garlic cut up really small

Mix all together

put a little oil on bottom of baking pan Roll around into pan to cover with the little oil

Top it with a can of tomato sauce. Fill can up with water and put water on bottom of pan.

Bake about 45 minutes of 350. For the last 10 minutes or so put a can of peas in the pan around the meatloaf. then the last few minutes cover with mozerella or whatever cheese you like until melted

I also usually cut up potates and roast them right inside the pan with the meatloaf. I coat them with oil, salt and pepper. they take aobut the same amount of time to cook. If you do it this way, when you throw in the peas, you put them on top of the potatoes.

Yummy!
