I need a REALLY good excuse to take off for a job interview!

I think someone posted about this recently -

there's a big meeting here on Monday that I have to miss because I have a job interview that can't be rescheduled.

Stomach flu?
Help please!

You could mention today that you feel like you are getting sick...and then on Monday, they might say well she wasn't feeling well on Friday...

can you reschedule the interview?
i would rather not jeopardize a current job with just the hope that i will find another...
in any case, i would stick to not lying...
'something came up that i must take care of...' that should cover it.

I guess it depends on how important this meeting is. If its so important that you would never miss it even if you had a stomache flu, then rescedule. Otherwise, come down with 'need a new' job fever

If you can't reschedule and lying is necessary, go with an emergency dental appointment. Maybe a root canal!

Are you not going into work at all, or are you leaving work early?

I have been interviewing for two years to get out of the hole i work in. Ihad an interview yesterday, one last week, and one Monday. I have used:

Have to go to the dr to get a prescription, he wont call it in for me.

have to wait at home for cable/lipa

theres a leak in my ceiling, have to wait for plumber.

flat tire, waiting for AAA.

if i think of more ill post them
