my original plan was to surprise fh with a trip in august as an engagement gift. now he might be going into the police academy and my exotic vacation idea is scrapped. i know we will be engaged within the next few weeks and i was wondering if anyone could suggest something really special that i can do for a weekend getaway that's closer to home.

I surprised FH with a trip to Bushkills falls Penn. It was beautiful. So many areas to go hiking (easy-challenging) and the many many waterfalls were georgous. Only a few hours away.

'The Snowflake Inn' in new hampshire :) it's the most romantic little getaway!!! me & the hubby got the Gazebo suite (best suite in the place!) for 3 nights including one complimentary dinner at the restaurant of your choice (we did the 1875 inn....IT WAS SO AMAZING! our bill WOULD'VE been $145 just for the two of us!) a massage IN your room and then we had gotten ski & sled passes 'cause it was winter (they probably give u kayaking or hiking or somethig for summer-u can ask)....ANYWAYS, so for the three nights, the inroom massage, the dinner & the passes we only paid around 600 bucks!(and this was for the best suite in the place!) it was soooo nice :) the inn is so cute...the upstairs has a pool table and board games - there's fresh scones, muffins & cookies out every morning(but the breakfast place across the street is AMAZING & super cheap!), and they have a pool size jacuzzi hot tub right downstairs! You're also aloud walk around the inn in the slippers and robes they provide u with :) And everyroom as a tub side fireplace :) the one in the gazebo suite is actually double sided - one side on the tub, the other in the bedroom :) not to mention the town thats about 5minutes away is an ADORABLE main st. with all sorts of shops & stuff......& if u're into the drinking thing i know there's a bunch of cool little pubs around....it's just a REALLY nice romantic getaway if it's you're style :) and it's pretty inexpensive too :) i'm pretty sure they have a website so u can google them to get their phone number if ur interested :) Good Luck!
