One of my bms is getting married in October. She just told me last night she plans to have a honeymoon baby. It wouldn t be such a big deal except I am getting married aprox 5 months after and we bought her dress already ! I also had a long talk with my sister who was planning on having her second child this winter. She pushed of trying until after my wedding due to having her dress fit her. I have told my bm y concern and she didn't really care. I was thinking of asking her not to be in the wedding. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets me start by saying i totally understand both sides. i would not go as far as asking her to step down but maybe you could work something out with selling her dress she ordered and getting her a maternity dress. and your sister is awfully nice by pushing off TTC for your wedding. I think i would be very hurt if one of my friends/sister asked me to postpone TTC for her wedding. I hope this doesnt offend you . but i understand your concerns but maybe there something you can work out... what dress did you order maybe i can help find a maternity dress for you?
ETA: i agree with jessamyn78 with adding in some extra material... also my cousin is currently 5 months pregnant and you can barely tell shes pregnant! (ill see if i can get a pic)

I wouldn't worry about the dress. Your bm can buy extra material at they can sew it in when altering her dress. I know that you are upset, but you also have to think of things from her point of view.

My cousin was 9 months pregnant for her sister's wedding and she had a regular BM gown, that they added material on the belly and ruched it so it gathered. She looked beautiful.

I dont think it would be right to ask her to postpone trying to a baby or asking her to step down. You asked her to be in your BP because she is a special person in your life, not because of how she looks.
and who knows, she may not get prego right away (not that i wish that upon her) but things dont always happen that easily or quickly

don't worry! just because they start trying doesn't mean it'll happen in the first month (unless they're like rabbits ). And worse comes to worse, at 5 months, most people are just showing a little bit...they're not at that huge beach ball stage yet!

Please do not ask your friend to postpone trying to conceive until after your wedding or ask her to step down. She shouldn't have to put her life on hold. The other pps had good ideas about how to modify the BM dress if necessary.

I think you should have no problem altering the dress and adding extra material, and a lot of designers offer maternity dresses as well... There are plenty of options for pregnant BM's!
I'm actually hoping I run into this problem, my cousin is a BM and has been trying to get pregnant for 3 years now, and they have tried everything. They're trying in-vitro now... and I will be absolutely thrilled if she is pregnant! I know how bad she wants it... I didn't even think about it affecting my wedding at all... I will be so happy for her!
Just know that everything will work out great either way, and she will still look just as beautiful if she is pregnant on your wedding day!

I'm getting married this November, and one of my BMs plans to start TTC over the summer.
We ordered her dress 1 size larger, but I really think it will be fine ... at most she'll be 4 months pregnant.
Honestly, I think it would be a blessing if she were pregnant at my wedding!

hello there rh twin any how i understand where you are coming from its tough but maybe you should try and speak to her and ask her if she would mind maybe considering under the circumstances that she wouldnt mind paying extra to have them order her a maternity style dress. its worth a shot. but just explain to her that it does cost money to order the size she needs
