Re: I need another reading....

I used this by Emerson:

GIVE all to love;
Obey thy heart;
Friends, kindred, days,
Estate, good-fame,
Plans, credit, and the Muse,--
Nothing refuse.
'Tis a brave master;
Let it have scope:
Follow it utterly,
Hope beyond hope:
High and more high
It dives into noon,
With wing unspent,
Untold intent;
But it is a God,
Knows its own path
And the outlets of the sky.
It was never for the mean;
It requireth courage stout.
Souls above doubt,
Valor unbending,
It will reward,--
They shall return
More than they were,
And ever ascending.

Re: I need another reading....

Be strong in your faith
Be happy in your heart
Be bold in your dreams,
Be persistent in your desires,
Be enthusiastic in your work
Be determined in your mind,
Be confident in your plans,
Be yourself in all honesty
and be assured you
will have it all.

Re: I need another reading....

We used this as one of our readings.
It's called the Key to Love

The key to love is understanding, the ability to comprehend not only the spoken word, but those unspoken gestures, the little things that say so much by themselves.

The key to love is forgiveness, to accept each others faults and pardon mistakes, without forgetting, but with remembering what you learn from them.

The key to love is sharing, facing your good fortunes as well as the bad, together; both conquering problems, forever searching for ways to intensify your happiness.

The key to love is giving, without thought of return,
but with the hope of just a simple smile, and by giving in but never giving up.

The key to love is respect, realizing that you are two separate people, with different ideas; that you don't belong to each other, that you belong with each other.

The key to love is inside us all. It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients that will take you to its threshold. It is the continual learning process that demands a lot of work, but the rewards are more than worth the effort, and that is the key to love.

Edited to say: bride082003 - we were allowed to choose one non-book reading, but we were told that the New Testament reading had to come from the Together for Life book.
