I need creative ideas...

And I am guessing that you girls are the best place to come for this.....

1. Card Box - can not be the 'photo' box as my FH hates it (sorry...his words, not mine!). No birdcage...but I'd love it to have some 40's/movie twist to it, without being a bat mitzvah.

2. Ok, menu - I need to come up with 'movie' type things to describe each course (FH doesn't know this yet, trying to slip this in somewhere! ) so far i have 'opening credits' for appetizer and 'intermission' for the intermezzo (if i get it)...and for dessert, maybe 'Encore'.... Any other ideas?

can you do a stack of film reels? or somthing movie related?

Appetizers - Opening Credits/ First Act/ Setting the Stage/Take One!

Intermezzo - Intermission / Supporting Cast

Main Course - Director's Cut/ Take Two!/ And Action!

Dessert - Encore/ That's a Wrap!/ End Scene/ Closing Credits

The only idea I have about the card box is using a stack of hat boxes....it's very '40's' and not bar/bat mitzvah'ish....

didn't they used to rip movie tickets and put them into a box (wait they still do...) maybe you could create a 'ticket' box...I am picturing a box covered in a luxe fabric (maybe purple velvet) with a lovely trim around the top....

Maybe what you could do is wrap the box with magizine cut outs of movies, old or new.

You could then make the menu look like a script.
Let your creative juices flow!

the only thing I could think of was calling the appetizers 'Concessions' since you eat consessions before the main act!

I think film scripts are written in 3 parts...the setup, the conflict and the resolution so you could use those.

I like the film reel idea...what about a fake projector? With the film reels on the side but the rest of it can be just an empty box with a slit on top to put the cards in?
