I NEED EBAY HELP QUICK!!

I had something up for auction and the winning bidder had an invalid e-mail address. Two weeks after the auction closed I finally reported this person to e-bay. I relisted the item and what do I get today???

An email from this person saying they are sending payment!!!!!

WHAT DO I DO???

i would tell them 'tough'. its their responsibility to contact you within three days!

Maybe tell them tough but if they REALLY want the item, then tack on the cost of re-listing it to the original cost.

yeah, and you can also end this auction early if you want to give it to this person.

invalid name or does the person not have enough space (with there isp) to recieve the email? (the return email you get will tell you either 1 or the other)

those are two different things...
either way...he has your email, he/she can contact you..

I'd tell them if they want the item, they should put a bid in. I agree, it's not fair to the person who's winning the auction right now. As far as ebay rules go, you do have discretion here so it's whatever you want to do. Personally, I wouldn't do it - maybe it'll teach the person to be so shady next time.

I tried several times to contact her and always got a Mail Delivery Failure Notice. The auction closed on May 9th and I just got an e-mail from her today.....

it IS the buyers' responsibility to contact the seller within 3 days, right?

She thinks it's ok because she never got the winning bidder notice when the auction closed...

I know I always check what I'm bidding on to see if I won!

what is the reason though? (should be the next line like the user doesn't exist or the message is to large for the user to accept)

its kinda common thing for some people to never delete email and there box becomes full.

I would tell them that they have to rebid if they are interested b/c you couldn't reach them in a timely manner and they never contacted you in that time period. If they are this shady about the email they may be very shady about actually sending payment. Not worth the hassel. Be careful how you go about it though...you could end up with negative feedback (though you can respond to it).

Here is the solution...

If you get the payment (paypal)... then you can just end your auction early and cancel all bids.

Its really not that big a deal. Just put reason for ending the auction early is item no longer available for sale.

If you just end your auction early... make sure you also CANCEL all bids.
