I need general shoe/foot help, please

Every summer I get a billion blisters from every shoe I try to wear. Not only does it get painful, but I then have really ugly regular blisters, ripped open blisters, red marks, scabs and scars from them which show when I switch shoes. Should I spend the summer in sneakers so my feet won't be ruined for the wedding? Or can someone recommend shoes that don't cause blisters? I don't know what y problem is but it sure is frustrating!

ETA: I'll accept all blister healing tips, too!

Most new shoes I try give me blisters initially and then my feet get used to them. I did buy a pair of soft leather rubber sole sandals from JcPenney (made by Easy Spirit) that didn't give me blisters and were also reasonably priced.

what kind of shoes are you wearing? I have blister problems as well, but I don't usually get blisters with flip flops. I've found that shoes with a thin, light sole (as opposed to big platforms or heavy chunky heels) don't pull on my foot as much and move with me better when I walk, and therefore don't give me blisters. So, I buy flip flops with a thin sole, etc. Also, anything with wider straps won't cut in as much as thin straps.

You also might want to consider going to a good shoe store and asking them to check your feet to make sure you're wearing the right size. I had a friend who was convinced she was one size, but she really needed a half size up, and when she started trying on slightly bigger shoes, she had fewer problems with blisters, etc.

It happens with just about every cute pair of shoes I get. Mostly sandals. You could tell one set was from flip flops because you could actually see the pattern in the blisters on my feet. Terrible. Good point about the size though. Maybe I should be looking for 10 1/2s. Ahh! I thought I was already Sasquatch!

hey, I'm a size 10 too! I actually tried on a pair of 11s once and was totally horrified at the thought... ug!

my grandmother is an 11. and since most people's feet sort of expand as they age, I might some day as well... insane.

I would stay away from the synthetic stuff! Try shoes from naturalizer or easy spirit and other companies - they're not as cute as the other brands out there, but your feet will thank you.

I was watching an episode of the Soprano's once where Christopher gave...his girlfriend (forgot her name) some shoes that fell off a truck and she was like these are Sasquatch size- size 10! Boy did that hurt!
