No, people will know that's when things start. What kind of ceremony are you having and is it far away from your hall? You can take pictures in between, of course, but usually your hall will allow you to show up early and get set up and start to nibble. you will be hungry by that point!

Yes, people will know that 7 is when it starts. Maybe instead of putting Reception at 7 PM you can put dinner, dancing and drinks...this is what we put

I have a gap inbtw ceremony and CH.

I think they'll know.....when we planned our wedding for home we did wedding at 4 and reception to start at 6, however, we talked to the hall and asked if we could 'start' at 5:30 or 5:45 just in case people came early. They did not have a problem with that since it was only 1/2 hr to 15minutes. Maybe they would do that for you

Indicate the start of the CH. Don't say 'adult reception.' Indicate who's invited on inner envelope or the outer, if not using inner envelopes.

You can put Adult Reception-Ive been to 4 weddings this past year, 3 of which were AR and 3 of which had it on the reception card.

It may be more common, but it's still not correct. It's more polite to state who is included on the invitation (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) rather than state from the get-go who is excluded (no kids).

Correct, its not polite but if people are going to ask to bring their kids even if they arent on the inner envelope-thats not polite either But I do understand what you are saying-makes complete sense. The few guests who wanted to know if their child was invited asked everyone but me...so it worked for me in a way-I didnt have to tell that their child couldnt come and listen to the whining and complaining

that's fine, i put the same thing and had the time gap too, it worked out perfect, and people commented that they appreciated the 'adult reception' thing on the card.... it was a classy way to say keep those kids home!
