I went to see Flower Michele and Verbena yesterday. Verbena was good but a bit pricey for what I needed (she 1st quoted me $1800 then lowered her price to $1500), by cutting down in the centerpieces.
I loved Flower Michele, John was great and very knowledgeable about flowers and gave me great ideas. He gave me a price of $1500. I loved Michelle of Hidden Essence she is really sweet and nice and I know she will really care about the product she gives me, she gave me a price of $1000. I really dont want to spend that much with flowers but I want to make sure that I love my final product.
What would you do????
I am sooo torn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really dont have much room to spare in my budget

Have you checked out any other florists? Sounds like these are all pricier than you'd like...I say keep lookin until you find one that you really love that has a price you love too. We haven't looked at florists yet (actually that is next weeks task) but I think we are going to look at Burtons. i ahve heard excellent things about their work and their prices! Good luck!

Burtons will not travel to new rochelle

Maybe you could ask if there are any cheaper flowers that you could use that would give the same effect as the ones you were quoted for?
But if you have your heart set on those, then I would say go with the one that is giving you the best price...as long as you feel they will do the right job.

I understand...truthfully, i feel the same way about flowers so I would probably go with the 1000 dollar vendor. It sounded like you liked her work and that she would treat you guys well so i would probably use her. Was there something about her that you DIDNT like?

The only drawback is that she works from home and god forbid anything happens to her I could get screwed. I called her and she assured me that she works with other designers and if antyhing were to happen they would cover for her. ALso she works with wholesalers and not farms directly so the product is not premium.
I guess I am reading too much into it.

Hmm....i think it should be fine. Did you look for any reviews on her? I would post or ask some others about her. I would probably end up using her though. I know of a few girls who are using vendors who work from their homes. They have nothing but great things to say!

i love flowers and i found that i checked out flowers by burton (in melville) and in the contract it doesnt matter what type of flowers you use - they are a wholesaler and only do weddings - but i did not get the warm and fuzzy over the top excited wedding planning feeling from them - there pictures are amazing of what they have done in the past for other weddings - they do great work, their prices are inexpensive - so i figured i could live without one vendor who didnt go over the top about my wedding

I would go with Hidden Essence she use to work with Flower Michelle and she reviews on this board and she was one of the florist that contributed to TWOY. Michelle is really nice a liked her very much when I met with her.

Oh wow, I didnt know she used to work for Flower Michele. Thats great to know, so she is very knowledgeable about flowers and I know John expects great quality.
