I need help

I need help

I am currently researching products to put on my registry. I am not enjoying this process. All of the products have good and bad reviews, and I feel more lost and confused. Please help me.

I am beginning with big items: strollers. I am leaning towards a travel system. I trust you ladies. So I wanted your recommendations.

ooh I wish I could help more....I am REALLY slacking on this!!!!

I am not doing a travel system, but I know the Graco is popular and the Peg Perego. A lot of girls here have travel systems so hopefully they'll respond!

I did the Graco travel system and I love it. I did all the matching sets with the Graco..i.e. swing, high chair, pack n' play. Hope that helps.

I used the graco snug rider infant seat...you clip the carrier out of the base that remains in the car...and my stroller is the Chicco deluxe XL..
I LOVE this STroller...and I miss using the infant seat...easy to move Julianne around without waking her.

WE have the Britax Roundabout car seat now ..shes too long to the infant car seat. Britax is VERY highly rated..but pricey. I say DEF put that on your registry...even if 2 people have to buy it for you...

I loved many of the Graco travel system patterns but when it was time for me to close and lift the strollers- Holy Moly they were way too heavy for me. Some of those strollers were over 20lbs. Now for me that is toooo heavy to be lifting in and out of the car a few times a day, plus when it closed it closed downward which meant I would have to bend time a lot. I ended up with a Graco Metrolite Stroller and matching Snugride Car Seat. that stroller closed upwards, so no bending.
IMO you need to touch, close, open, lift (and use one hand for some of that too) the strollers and not just use on-line reviews. Some open/close differently, have different weights, etc...

I used Amazon for a lot of the reviews of the products I chose. I also didn't do a matching system since I decided to get what I liked best in each catogory. While it sorta drove me crazy that everything doesn't all match I really wanted what I felt was the best item.

I love the Fisher Price Ocean Cradle Swing- and it gets a lot of very, very good reviews. I also liked the FP Kick and Play bouncing seat. For my high chair I knew I wanted one with a removable food tray and I got the Baby Trends since it got good reviews and matched my kitchen.

I agree with Michele31 you have to pick up a stroller to know if its going to work for you. Some are HEAVY!!! go to the store. Pick out a few that you really like, write it down, then go home and pick the one with the best reviews.

Natasha ... I've been using the Baby Bargains book to help in this area. I was really dreading the registering process ... so many items, how do you make a good decision? But the book has been a godsend. With my gf as a guide, its been much easier than I thought. I do all of my reading ahead, then bring it with me to BRU. I figure its a good start, and if I change my mind later, then I can always bring it back.

If you don't have this book, I highly recommend it. Its been recommended here many times & I am GRATEFUL for it!!

Good luck!

PS ... I got it at buy.com for $10 w/free shipping! (Even the book was a bargain!)

I borrowed the baby bargain book from the libarary, and I did some reading last night. I was on the internet last night, and I went to the store today. I think I am on my way. I haven't decided on one, but I am getting there. Thank you ladies.

I saw someone with the travel system that I like. She had a young baby, and she said she loves it.
