i need help about wedding gowns

i have been very delayed in my search for a gown--i am getting married next summer and have only looked in magazines and i am getting very nervous that the dress i will end up wanting won't have enough time to come in--i know the style i would like but just haven't gone to look yet........so could you all please post the designer of your dress and how long it will take to come in--thanks --i am stressing big time--every week i say i am going to look and something always comes up--ahhh---- thanks girls

I was worried too! I kept thinking it might take a long time to come in, then I have to get it altered, and if something goes wrong.......So....my sister and I went one Wednesday that she and I had off last month. Two places that we wanted to go to were closed (I was getting upset) then we said lets go to Davids. I've heard that their dresses are 'cheap looking' but I wanted to go somewhere without wasting the day and I knew I didn't want to spend too much. I fell in love with the first dress (as many do) I went to a few more places, went back a week later and bought it. They told me 12 weeks and it's already here!!! Now I have to wait until August to wear it

In other words...You'll find one and it will all work out perfectly

Mine is also by Eve Of Milady with no picture

but the bridal store said about 9 months..

My dress is a Marisa and it only took about 3 months to order, I was very impressed!

My gown had a lot of custom work -- and it still only took about 5 months to come in. Don't worry - as long as you go to a reputable shop you'll be fine.

From what I hear, delays are most commonly caused by wedding shops having poor credit ratings / not paying the bills to the dressmakers on time -- or stupid salespeople screwing up the orders --> both of which are not that common. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time...

I had a Paloma Blanca gown. It took 6 months - ordered in December, it came in the beginning of June - and I got married in August.

dont worry!!!! you have time....find something you love...

i changed my dress four months before my wedding and the dress came in 2 months!!!
and it was an eve of milady who supposedly takes the longest of any designer....

just editing to say that i totally agree with dora....the reputable shops have really good relationships with the designers and they will get the dress in on time for you!!!

My dress came from an Australian designer and I had it customized and it took about 6 months. (The shop had told me it would take 8 mos.)

I had an Eve Of Milady as well. Two shops told me it takes the longest to get in from her. It came in in 3 months.

I would not worry about it you have plenty of time, they want your money they will get you the dress.
I just ordered my dress for my March wedding a few weeks ago. It is a Mori Lee and I am told it should be in around Nov or Dec.

Here is the thing each salon you are at wants to make the deal so the sooner the better, they rather you not go home and think about it or go out and find a better deal, so lots of them tell you to order early, but I honestly dont believe them. It takes longer I think because the designers they are ordering from has a date (the date you told them your wedding is) so they wait to send some out. I had this happen with a bridesmaid gown.
So I would not worry you have time, find what you want and bargain with them, definitely get competetors prices.
