I just got engaged, and started planning the weeding. I have had difficulty finding a receptionlocation that fits into my budget. I am having a small event approx. 100 people, and wanted an outside event; my date is set for 6/10/06. Can anyone help???!

At this point in time I'm not picky about whether or not the ceremony is outside!

where have you looked so far?? do you want it at night or during the day?? and what day or night. that will really narrow down the halls for you to look at.

I would check out this website, it should be able to help you narrow down your search and find things in your budget.
Douglaston Manor is a nice place to have an outdoor wedding. There are plenty of other places as well where are you looking? Nassau , Suffolk Other location?

I live in the Bronx, I have discovered through internet research that anything in Manhattan is way overpriced! But, I'm hesitant about choosing a location that may be hard for my guests to attend. I did find a yacht company that only charged $40/person!! But, they havent contacted me yet.
I'm really frustrated and the wedding date is a year away!!!!

Re: I need help finding reception site!
hi, my wedding is for june 17th, so we are pretty close. i am having my ceremony outdoors and my cocktail hour as well, and the reception is at the same place, at the beach club estate, its in lake ronkonkoma, its on a sat. night in june and i am only paying $90pp, i also looked at the riveria in massapequa, for a sat. night in june i know it was $106pp, which is not bad either. of course on a sat day or a sunday or a fri night it would be a lot cheaper of course. and both places you can have the ceremony outdoors, also windows on the lake is the same owner as my place and its jsut as cheap and outseid too by a lake. you could always check them out. jen

Riviera of Massapequa is BEAUTIFUL> its right on the water. the gazebo for the ceremony is surrounded on 3 sides by water and you have your cocktail hur right outside. it's perfect for smaller weddings, it's inexpesnive and view is beautiful!

I'm having a day wedding in April. I like The Harbor Club in Huntington. It's on the water and there are really pretty view of the boats. They only do one wedding at a time and have a beautiful garden outside. If you're interested, you can have your ceremony there too.

stewart manor country club - i am biased but it is extremely affordable and the min for a friday in august is 100 people. the hall is beautiful, perfect for an outdoor affair. www.stewartmanorcountryclub.com

Re: I need help finding reception site!
a co-worker got married at Giorgios (which is gorgeous) and only had 75 people on a friday night. I know they are flexible and the place is beautiful. I'm sure they will work with your budget.
Also, try East Wind the country garden prices aren't too bad.
And, as always I always recommend the Brentwood Country Club for brides looking for an inexpensive venue that's still beautiful. Don't get discouraged because it's in Brentwood. (That's where I grew up, and the country club is great for weddings and inexpensive parties)

Re: I need help finding reception site!
PS. the date you chose is is going to be a little on the pricey side because it's a Saturday in June.
Think about having it during the day that will keep the cost down.
