I need help from the jewish ladies please

Please dont take ANY offense

Last night I was in the car with my 7 year old and we passed a house with a menorrah blow up thing ( sorry cant spell) and he commented on how the middle candle was bigger and was it giving him the finger ? I told him that no its tradition that the middle candle be bigger and he asked why and I didnt have an answer for him so he decided that it was because grown ups dont want kids to know its the middle finger ...I truly dont want him to think that but was unable to give him a better answer...Help me out here !!!
