i need help or advice or something lol

ok so we have not got our license in the mail..we r married almost a month

now i know it takes time,but fh needs it for something at his job to get me on his pension/benefits etc etc

he only as 2 more weeks to do this

i would call the prist and ased if he has maild it out to ny state but his father just passed away and i feel funny calling him to bother this with him att this time

does anyone know a website or somepace i can call to see the status of this to see if it was mailed or was even gotten yet or shoud i just call the priest to see whats up

Ours took 5 weeks I would try to be patient another option is to go in person and Pay for another copy.

Do you happen to have a copy of the paper you had to fill out at town hall? DH used that to have me added after we had our civil ceremony in May (I was having a health issue that couldn't wait 5 months to take care of) to get me on his insurance before our actually license came. Not sure if that'll work for you DH's insurance but it's worth a try.

What town hall did you get it in? If I remember it was out here on LI, right? Believe it or not, it makes a difference.

Hmm...DH arranged it so that I would be covered the minute I said 'I Do'. We paid ahead of time and they just asked that we send in a copy of the marriage certificate asap. First they said that we needed this first but I moaned that I needed coverage sooner than that and if I'm legally eligible why can't they put me on and then I have to furnish proof afterwards and that is what ended up happening. Talk to the HR people cause it can take a while.

I was up in NY for a few days about 6 weeks after our wedding and I went to the municipal building in Brooklyn where we got our marriage license and just paid $35 for a second copy (they had been mailed the day before I went there). We got the one in the mail in NC 2 days later, but I was glad to have that copy since I was able to go to SS on LI before coming back to NC.

I got married the day after you and ours arrived right after we got back from our honeymoon. So I guess in total it took 2 weeks. I am sure it will be here soon! Don't worry!

I got mine in Manhasset, and it came 1 week later.

Maybe you could go there in person and see about getting a copy..

I agree, or at least they should be able to tell you if they didn't receive it!

I got mine in manhasset too and it was already at the house by the time we got back from our hm.

Mine NEVER came. . they claim they mailed it out but it apparently got lost in the mail. . I waited and waited then finally just went down the to city hall and paid for another copy. .. you can do this as long as they mailed it in. . sometimes though the officiants forget. . I know mine mailed it in bc she even sent me a copy of the receipt so it was all city hall. . but I would say wait another day or two and then just go to city hall with copy of your signed marriage lic and you should be good!
