I had a destination wedding planned in St Thomas paid for May 17,2005. To make a long story short due to family issues we are changing plans.

I am tring to plan a wedding in 4 months
My wedding dress is ordered.
I started planning on Thursday.
These are in my budget I am willing to have the wedding during the week. It will probably be very difficult to get a weekend so far I checked out...
keep in mind all prices include taxes and grat
charging me $50 pp -Russo's I love they only have mondays avail. may 16 (I think this is a terrable day) charging me $60 Leonards -so-so
Coral house-hated but has a sunday May 15
Chateau Briand $64pp very nice and they have May 12 + throwing in an ice sculpture
Is it worth checking out huntington townhouse I think it might be to far out on the island.
I am having a hard time making a decision.

I know it's another expense, but you may want to consider hiring a wedding planner. Just so you can have someone make calls for you and present you with some possibilities so you won't run yourself ragged with all the legwork.
Do you have to have it close to May 17? Crazy, I know, but you may want to consider dates in April -- places may have greater availability than in May.

I would try to get a weekend if at all possible. A Sunday or Friday must be available SOMEWHERE out there. I would keep looking!

PS: if you REALLY want a weeknight, I'd go with Chateau Briand, you will get the most for your money there in my opinion.

I suggest you take a day off from work and just hit the phones. Let each hall know that you are planning last minute and ask if they have any availability in May. I don't think you are forced to midweek. You will definitley be able to find something on a Friday night or Saturday or sunday afternoon- Saturday night is almost definitely NOT going to happen.

Knights of Columbus in Oceanside is sort of under the radar. They don't advertise so they might have availability. It's worth a call. They have packages that start at $31.00 a person not including tax and tip, but the gratuity was low and if you can pay cash......well then you never know? ha, ha. The ballroom is beautiful and seats up to 300. Good luck and try not to worry. It can be done.

Chateau Briand is very cool looking with the art deco atmosphere, but I was at a function there once and the food was awful. make sure you get a tasting if you go with them

1st....is there a reason it has to be so close to the original date? I originally picked a sunday in September and wound up getting a great deal in august on a saturday night (it was less than my originally picked date)
2nd...are you only looking for Nassau? Brentwood CC has some awsome package deals...the room isn't the greatest but everything is included so there's very little planning to do and I have tasted the food and it's not bad.
Keeping these in mind, I think if you went into April you would have no problems in getting a friday or sunday.

i do not know if you want to go out to Shoreham, but Tall Grass is really nice and brand new.
just so you know Leonards is far from so-so, they happen to have excellent food and service. They have been wonderful to work with so far. Oh and BTW I wish I was paying $60 pp at Leonards, I am paying double that.

Check out holidays I found that this is one of the cheapest days to get besides a thursday or friday night. Im getting married on Memorial day(monday). I've also learned from the girls on the boards that the closer you get to a date the less expensive pp it becomes. Mike at Jericho Terrace is very helpful as well as Christina at The North Ritz Club. I've also heard that Fox Hollow is very reasonable and willing to work with you. Good Luck. I would also FM Kdrainy, Katrina has rates for everyone she was a very thrifty shopper, she's my idol when it comes to wedding planning

Woodbury CC might be up your alley, also Crest Hollow CC.. Stewart Manor CC doesn't advertise, so they might be available. I heard Thurdsday night weddings are becoming very popular. Have you heard of the reception house? They are located in flushing on Northern Blvd. I've never been inside. Also the Douglastion CC (or Douglaston Manor) has package deals, all in one with limos and flowers etc. They have a nice Garden room which over looks the golf course..
