I need help with his gift, Please help me!

Ok,
It is a bit early for me to be buying his wedding gift, but here's the deal. There is some special guitar he wants. Unfortunately for me they just discontinued this guitar. There are like only 2 left. (My FH has been searing the whole island for one). This is the ONLY thing he wants. So we located one last night. We are going to look at it today. But I do not want to buy it for him and have him know about it. SO, HERE IS MY PLAN, but I need your opinions. I am going to call the store today and buy it over the phone. I am going to explain that it needs to be a surprise for the wedding. Then when we go to look at it today, I will have my FH check it out and make sure it is up to par, then I will have the sales rep say that he's sorry but he just found out they sold it. SO, my FH will be really sad now, but wont he be happy later when he sees that he is getting it on our wedding day? I hope this works. The only backfire is that he may still try to find this guitar in other places and if he does he WILL BUY IT! Do you think this will work? I really want to surprise him, he has given me everything I have ever wanted. He always thinks of the most thoughtful gifts and surprises me. Help Ladies...I need to get him this guitar.

It sounds like a great idea, but I had a similar problem. We wanted to buy my parents a big screen TV as a wedding present, b/c my mom always wanted one, but when she started looking, she said they were too expensive. Well, 2 months before the wedding their TV broke, I knew there was no way that they would last without a tv...so we gave it to them early.

you might also think about giving it to him for christmas.

I think you should do it! You may have to give it to him early like yabbobay said. He's going to be thrilled!

He is going to be SO cranky later on. I will have to take him out to a nice restaurant or something to cheer him up. I am leaving for the store at 10:30, so I will let you know how it goes. Then I will post later to tell you his reaction when he hears he cant get the guitar today. (Awww Poor guy!) But so worth it for the surprise.

Ok, so far I went to the store with one of my BM's and successfully bought the guitar! And the good thing is that there are none left! Now my FH is on his way over. We are going to the guitar store so he can try to buy it. This is the part I am nervous about. I will post back later. WISH ME LUCK! I hope I dont blow it at the store! I cant imagine how our FH's felt buying and hiding the e-rings from us. This is nerve racking!

Ok we went to the store and he was so MAD!!! I thought he was going to kill the guy when he said there were no more. He has done nothing but complain and stay angry all day. It is killing me! I wish I could give it to him today. Now my problem is, he is on a mission to locate this guitar somewhere on earth! It is some kind of strat...Cant remember the specifics. Oh man I am stressing out. I hope this all works out, because if it does and I can actually wait till the wedding he will be SOOOOOOO happy.

Ok ladies, so far so good. He does not suspect a thing. I felt terrible though, because he was so mad all day. The fact that he couldnt buy the guitar totally ruined his day. He is so mad at the guy at the music store. I am afraid my FH will keep calling the music store demanding that they find another guitar for him. It is going to be so hard to hide this from him until April. Our 8 year anniversary is on the 17th of this month and I wish I could give it to him then. But I have to keep reminding myself this will be SO worth it, if I can actually give it to him on our wedding day. I guess it depends on how is hunt for the guitar goes. AHHH STRESS! Oh and Jennbaby, it is an 'Iron Maiden Strat'. Sounds so cheesy right. He loves this guitar though, let me tell you! I havent seen him this mad in a long long time!
