I Need Help with my Photo Cube

I Need Help with my Photo Cube

I've attached all the frames...but I don't have anything for the bottom or the top.

Can anyone suggest material to use for the top and the bottom? Also, once I have the top, how do I cover it with the slit in the middle? Do I cut the fabric to the slit or do I tuck the fabric through the slit and tuck it appropriately?

Ugh...

TIA.

Aren't there directions for photo cubes on here? Take a look. Good Luck!

DH and I (mostly him though) made our card box. For the bottom I scored a piece of thick wood at Home Depot for free. It was in the scrap bin but perfect for my needs. DH cut it down and used l shaped hinges to screw it in to the bottom of the box. I painted it black to match the frames. For the top we got a think piece of plywood. DH cut it down to size and made cut the slit (pretty wide) for the cards. He used small hinges to put that in to the inside of the frame.

I got a square seat cushion at Joann's and cut that to size. Made a slit in the middle to line up with the wood one. I got satin material and cut a slit down the center then pulled it through the slit in the cushion. Sewed all the loose ends and it was done. The pillow sat on top of the wood piece. Once the wedding was over DH took off the inner wood peice to get to the cards.
