I need HELP/ADVICE

Ladies I need HELP!
I dont usually post but I am hoping you have some advice/suggestions for me.
To make a long story short- I might need to push back my wedding. My Dad is in the hospital w/ a ruptured brain anurysm & even though he is okay the Dr. say the recovery process is VERY slow. He will be in the hospital for a while then to rehab which could be months. I want my Dad to be 100% for my wedding & so I have been thinking of pushing the date back.

Do you even think its possible? Will my RH penalize me? I am afraid of losing my money. What if I cant change the date?

The only vendor I am afraid of losing is my photog TP. I dont know what to do.

I am so stressed, sad, confused, etc etc.
Please Help.

I am sorry to hear about your Dad, although glad he is going to be alright in time.

Most vendors understand these things happen. I would contact them all and see what their policies are about pushing back a date. There might be some extra fee. You should also consider it might be a while to get all your vendors available on the same day again. Although I think it is 100% worth the wait to have your Dad there happy and healthy.

i would call up each vendor and explain your situation, you may end up losing some money but i dont think they'd keep all of it, especially if your only pushing the date back ya know

I think your RH could probably work something out. It's not like you're canceling completely, you just want a later date. But like Shauna said, you might want to make it even later just so all of your vendors will be available.

Sorry to about your day but glad he is doing better. I am sure your vendors will understand, you are not cancelling you are just asking for extra time. Good Luck! Hope your Dad has a speedy recovery.

I would individually call each vendor and explain, starting with your RH. I think there is a policy with RH that if they can't sell your date if you cancel (or postpone) then you have to pay a certain amount but I highly doubt its the entire thing? I am really not sure since each place is different. Explaining the situation to them would be the best bet....I think they will cut you a deal since its not like its the week before, its a few months, which might work in your favor.

Most RHs have some sort of policy regarding how close to the wedding you are as far as payment plans go. However, this isn't a cancellation- it's a moving of the wedding- so it may be different. I'd call the RH and ask--it's the only way to know for sure.

So sorry to hear about your dad - I am sure if you talk to your RH and other vendors they should be able to work something out.

As everyone said i'm sorry to hear about your dad but i'm glad to hear he's ok.

I agree too with everyone else. Call your RH and vendors and see what they say. My friends pushed back there wedding a year and weren't penalized.

So sorry to hear about this. I hope your Dad is going to be ok and that everything works out. The vendors should be understanding about this!
