I need hlp with donateing to charity instead of favors

I want to donate the amount of $ I would have spent on favors to the Cancer Foundation. My dad died of lung Cancer and left me $ hoping that one day I would get married and that he always intended to give me my dream wedding. It has been a very emotional time for me planning it the way he would have wanted. I want to remember him and honor him that day by writhing a scroll or maybe on a place card on a plate. I'm not sure how to word it. I need help. To me, this is the most important thing that I will do for my wedding, Besides the vows of course! How do I do this in a classy understated way? I really need input. Thanks guys.

I am doing the same thing. FH's dad passed away from lung cancer and we are making a donation to the American Cancer Society.

We will be doing rolled scrolls and then attaching a snowflake ornament to the scroll and it will be place next to everyones plate.

Not sure of the wording yet.

This was the wording we used...

My FH's neice has juvenile diabetes so we dontaed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation becuase of her. ETA: her mom is actively involved in the foundation with fundrasising so we are giving the money through her.

both my mom and FH moms passed on due to cancer. what i am doing is having little cards made up that say 'In lieu of a favor, we have made a donation to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of our mothers' ____ and _____. thank you for sharing in our special day
