I need honest opinions.

I need honest opinions.

My FI wants to invite about 4 guys he works with and I think he is embarrassed to ask for their addresses (I dont know them, so it doesnt matter to me if they are invited, he wants them there). The problem is I am holding up mailing the invitations out for those addresses and the RSVP date is 9/1, so the latest I can hold the invites is 8/1. What should I do? Should I mail the rest out and wait for their addresses or mail the rest out and have him hand them to the 4 guys? I really need opinions.

Can't he send them an e-mail asking for their addresses? Otherwise maybe you should just have him hand them out. But it would be nice to have their addresses - especially to mail the thank you cards afterwards.

can he ask the office manager or secretary for their addresses? i wouldn't hand deliver them...if he's too embarrassed to ask for addresses, is he going to be able to just hand them out ? i would send out the ones that are ready and wait to see what he wants to do about the last four...really...it's not a big deal to send a few out seperately!

I suggest not waiting and sending the ones you have already. What if he changes his mind? When he get's their addresses, he can send them later or hand deliver them.

FH did this for a lot of his people. He just simply wrote, It's getting close to invitation time and I would like to have your mailing addresses.

As an aside, it is important that you specify mailing addresses, one of his friends responded with his e-mail address.....uh DUH!!!

I would mail out the ones that are ready it's unlikely they will notice if their invites go out a few days later.

Do you know any of these guys that you could call and ask them? Why is your FH embarrassed to ask them for the info? They will probably be flattered to be invited!

My FH did this too awhile ago when we were putting lists together. HOnest opinion: I told him that if he didn't get the addresses they weren't invited..Period...He had them for me by the end of that week...

I wouldn't hold up my invites for co workers..

I agree with the other girls - send out the others - if they all work together and will get their invites at the same time anyway, they'll never know that they went out later.

I don't get why he is embarassed to ask for addresses if he feels close enough to them to want them at the wedding...

Excellent point!!

We're sending out what we have and I told FH anyone he doesn't have an address for by July 31 will have to be handwritten BY HIM!!

i agree..you should send the ones out that you have already. no sense in holding on to them..and if he really wants them there then he should try to get over the embarrassment of it..i would love to be invited to a coworker's wedding if we were friendly. i think its a nice gesture.

Does he have their home telephone numbers? Go to Verizon.com and click on reverse look up (one of my favorite tools). If they are listedit will give the name and address.

Mail the rest now - Don't hold up everything waiting on 4 random addresses
Tell your FI to email the guys or see if they are listed in the company directoy
Don't hand deliver a wedding invitation - IMO it's tacky
