How about having a winter carnival? Those go over great. You can get dj's and other vendors of any kind to donate time and share funds and have all kinds of games and food. I'm sure people and/or resturants/caterers would donate food. Also, is the school a non-profit agency? If it is, my friend who runs a non-profit adoption agency has a list of about 11 l.i. company's who have alotted funds each year just to donate to non-profit agencies. Also I know that when her agency had a picnic for the families, they had a raffle and she got so many companies to donate free gifts.....she got free passes from splish splash, L.I. Dragons Game, Great Adventure, COSTCO, Ducks Game, and so much more....all these places plus others will donate time, supplies or prizes for raffles. Places like Applebee's, Wendy's, Outback and alot of other places will donate food and gift certificates. You can contact rental places, they sometimes will donate dunk tanks, moon bounces, chairs, and other stuff.

Do you have a budget to work with? A committee to help put the event together and then a pool of volunteers to run the event?? Do you have an existing donorbase you will target?

I'm a professional fundraiser for a non-profit and these are some of the basic questions that need to be answered before deciding what type and how large of a fundraiser you can take on. Realize that MAJOR businesses and inundated with requests from every non-profit and charitable cause on L.I. so fundraisers have to be creative and high quality to get corporate support.

You can do something so basic as buy theatre tickets in bulk, throw in a party bus with wine and cheese for the ride in and resell the tickets. OR you can try a direct mail campaign, a phone-a-thon OR if you're looking for PR and potential loyal supporters you can go the dinner dance, golf outing, auction, fashion show route. If you have any questions or want to bounce ideas off of me (I've been doing this for almost 10 years) FM me.

Good Luck!!!
