I need invitation opinions (again)

For those of you that read my post the other day about my invitation dilemma.....you know I was feeling stuck because the invites I loved (Elite) are pricey and the Birchcraft ones which were cheaper seemed like a good alternative.............WELL, I found out they won't put a scrolly symbol thing (motif) on the band in place of the stupid bow, so those invites are OUT!! lol


But luckily for me, my engaged friend ordered a sample from My Gatsby.........I saw them today and I am in love with them!!! You can mix & match and pick everything out on their website.....so I'm thinking about either doing a 3 layer invitation or a 2 layer. The price with assembly (b/c you can save around $150 and assemble them yourselves- not an option I'm really interested in!! lol) is:

150 3 layered invites- $732, and the price for 150 2 layered invites is $665. So really its only a savings of $67 for one less layer.

Now of course the question is which colors do I use for the layers.....here's what I'm thinking......

3 layer- bronze cardstock on bottom layer, then a small border of gold, and then metallic ecru for the top layer.

3 layer- bronze, gold, then coral

2 layer- bronze & gold on top

2 layer- bronze & coral on top (like the sample)


Why has this become such a difficult decision for me!!!!!! I think I need more sleep, then maybe I'd be able to actually MAKE a freakin' decision!!!!!!


BTW.....I also found out a cheaper price today for the Elite invitations- $880 for 150 of them (versus over $1000 I got quoted before).

So what would you do- Elite or My Gatsby?? And if My Gatsby- would you do 2 layers or 3? and which colors??

OPTION 1: Elite- 150 for $880

OPTION 2: My Gatsby- 3 layer- $732- bronze, gold, ecru (this was samples of cardstock, but you get the idea!

OPTION 3- bronze, gold & coral:

OPTION 4: 2 layer- bronze & gold: (please excuse the rsvp envelope! it was part of the sample set)

OPTION 5: 2 layer- bronze & coral (the actual sample)

I love them all! However, w/ option #3, the top paper looks like ecru. Isn't coral more of a pinkish color? Maybe my monitor is all screwy.

you are definitely right....but it is what My Gatsby considers 'coral'.....I was really surprised, b/c its actually very neutral looking, I almost like it better than the ecru, b/c the ecru looks more 'bright white' against the brown. Their so called coral has a warmer effect with the bronze.

yeah I guess b/c there's so many options out there for invitations, it can get a bit overwhelming!! thank you so much...it really helps to know I'm not alone!

Hey Chicka!!! Putting all of the options together was a really good Idea!!! I still totally love the elite....but option 3 is GORGEOUS!
Ok, here is what I love about the elite... the layout... I love the font and the names on top then the 2 layers and wording body, and then the font and date on the bottom. I think it is very unique, and nicely laid out. It is my fav.
Here is the thing... If I loved the elite and really like opt 3 For the small price difference I would go with elite
But if I like opt 3 and elite on the same level, I would save money and go for my Gatsby.

thanks Meem!! ok, well one thing that I like about My Gatsby is that I can make my rsvp & reception cards whatever color I want (in this case if I went w/ option 3, I'd probably do the gold rsvp, but I can also do coral). With Elite, I can only do opal shimmer, and I do like the idea of a more colorful reception & rsvp card.....and as you know to make the reception card 3 layered for Elite (as shown above), it adds $200 to the price

But I definitely see your point with the difference in price not being that much....I just have to double check with this vendor who gave me the new quote for Elite to make sure it includes everything (I'll forward you her info too).

Thanks for the email!!! I have the 2 elite's that frank and I like and Im gonna email for a quote!!! YAY!!! I totally see your point about the RSVP cards! See to me that would probably help me to decided, because that is an option that would be nice to have control over...I love the gold for RSVP card too it is interesting that elite only makes the Response cards in in opal, which is such a sharp contrast to the base of the invite which is bronze... a gold rsvp seems just right

Go for Option #3!! It looks gorgeous and is cheaper!
