I need location suggestions from all you knowledgable brides!
I'm new here, but have been on LIF for a while. My fiance and I have decided to get married just the two of us on a beach in Maui in September.
Afterwards, we are going to come to NY and have a 'Meet the Newlyweds' party on LI, since that's where I'm from and since most of my family is still there.
What I'm looking for is a location that's not quite as big of a deal as a traditional wedding reception hall, but maybe not just a restaurant (unless it has an event room). Something for about 70 people, maybe with room for a DJ/dancing. AND it needs to be available September 26th or October 3rd.
I know you probably can't help with availability, but does anyone have any location suggestions?
Thanks Ladies

I think the Inn at New Hyde Park has a room for almost any occasion. The room they do showers in is gorgeous and I could see that transformed for this type of event. It also has access to the outside patio space. GL!

You could call the Milleridge banquet office -- the Carriage House is more equipped for that size group, or the Milleridge Inn also has several rooms that could be used for a party like that. They have been wonderful to work with, and their food is fantastic!

Try the Three Villiage Inn-They have a small room to the right when you walk in away from the restaurant part. It's on the water and lots of place to take pics. I think its for under 100 people.

westbury manor has a small room upstairs. it's very private which is what i liked best about it. there's plenty of room for a dj and a dance floor too.
george washington manor also has rooms of all different sizes that can accomodate what you're looking for.

Larkfield Manor has a smaller room that holds up to 120. We used that for our reception and had 80 people and it was wonderful for that. their guarantee for a Sunday nite for us was 60 people so that might work for you. food is so so good and people easy to work with.

Theres 'Four Food Studio' Its a restaurant and Im almost positive they have an extra space for parties. I know they have their own djs because on Friday and Saturday nights they have a dj and dancing so I dont know if you could bring one in or they would ask you to use him. Food is good and a cool, modern looking restaurant.
There's Louies in Port Washington and its on the water and beautiful! ITs a seafood restaurant. There's a private room that Ive been in before. Im pretty sure 70 people could fit.
Theres Verdis, one in Whitestone and one in Westbury. Both restaurants that do a lot of events in sepate spaces.

do you have a specific location in mind?
Many of the catering halls have a small room available but I think what you are looking for is more of a restaurant, here are a few you can try.
George Martins in Douglaston Dominico's in Levittown La Piazza in Merrick Donovan's in Bayside Parkside in Carona Wickers in Hicksville NoVita in Garden City

Try 21 Main in West Sayville. They have the restaurant downstairs and a nice catering room upstairs.
