I need to learn how to eat healthier and start working out again. I don't know what happened to me, while in college I guess I lost control of my eating habits. I used to be so active and thin and I ate everything in site. Now I'm too tired to even WALK (the horror). I get sponsored to do Martial Arts, so honestly there should be no excuse for me not to work out. Two years ago I lost 25 lbs but I don't know why I let, myself gained it back!! HELP!! Anyone else out there who is going through this, maybe we can start a motivational board.
P.S. I did WW and was great but them I just let it go
Thanks for the long vent

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
weight watchers has really helped me loose weight and track what i was eating.....knowing that those chips are 5 points versus eating a cup of strawberries for 1 point really helped me control what i was putting into my mouth. i sometimes am even embarassed writing down that i ate ice cream becasue of the high points value. i say gave WW another shot. You have a fresh outlook and a wedding to get in shape for- that is my motivation. i want to look my best on my wedding day!
As far as working out- I HATE IT no actually I LOATHE it! but starting last week, FH and I have been getting up at 6am and hitting hte gym for an hour. we come home and have breakfast and hang out for a little before we have to leave for work at 8:45. working out with a partner helps especially your FH because you are both getting fit for the same reason, to look and feel your best on your big day- and to look super hot on the beach on your honeymoon.
i think you can do it! dont think about your past failures, think about your goals and take baby steps!

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
I know exactly where you're coming from! I used to run all the time (sometimes 10 miles a day broken up into 2 sessions). But after I got out of college and started working I've just been too TIRED to do it. I also moved in with my FH soon after I got my job and I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible, not wake up at 5AM to go to the gym!
I have lost and gained the same 10 lbs over and over in our 3 year relationship! I'm sick of it too and need a kick in the ***. Doesn't help that my FH loves everything fattening and rich =P.
My goal is to lose 20 lbs before the wedding! We can do it!

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
I hear you .. I recently gain 15lbs... i lost a total of 45 last year... my adivce, join a club like NYSC or take classes... you probably just need something that will break you out of routine.. i know, easier said than done... today just do one smart choice and work your way from there...
have you purchased your dress yet? have a special event coming up? sometime we need things that will motivate us... for instance, im going to be take my B-PICS this spring/summer only cause i need something to motivate to lose weight.. i always do that, and it work for me...
small goals will lead to big results! we are all here for you esp since many of us want to look killer sexy in our wedding dresses...
FM me if you need to talk :)

I will give WW a try, I was pretty good at it, so why not!! As far as a work our buddy, well FH eats like crazy but because he is a contractor there is no need for him to work out (so he says ) also, we don't live together yet and he starts work at 6:30 am and sometime doesn't get out until 7 in the evening....but I will definetly give WW another try. Thank for the advice

I don't belong to a gym, because honestly I never went. I do belong to a Martial Arts school so I guess I'll start going there. I also think I'm going to start walking.
As far a B-Pics, I so wanted to do those, but I will not be ready by this year. Thanks for the advice, maybe I can focus on wanting to take those pics for next year at this time and hopefully I will look somewhat decent
I haven't purchased my dress because my mom is a bit nutty about purchasing it too early and because I know I need to lose some weight first....That too is going to be my motivation!!!
Well enough LIW for today...I think I'm going for a walk!! Wish me luck on this never ending journey...Thanks ladies!

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
Definitely on the WW bandwagon. It really is the only diet I have every tried that works. I actually don't even think of it as a diet because you are not even restricting anything that you would normally eat (you just have to learn to control your portions and to stay on track with your exercising). Honestly if you would go to a doctor for weight loss advice that's exactly what he/she would tell you to do.
I always find that that the first few weeks are tghe toughest when starting out but once you get past it just starts to seem like common nature.
Good luck!

cynn81-
lol i WISH my weight went to my boobs and hips! Mine always goes to my arms and thighs. And I'm definitely going sleeveless on my wedding day!
I actually want to lose 25-30 lbs for my wedding but will be perfectly happy with 20. I'd say to set weight loss in small increments so you don't get discouraged by a big number.
I totally agree with having a motivating factor. My MOH is very petite and so are my bridesmaids (I haven't asked them yet =D). I know having them in my wedding party will be very motivating.
I've witnessed many people have success with WW!

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
Hope you don't mind a 10'er jumping in. I was in the same place last year, so I signed up for a half marathon. Then I made sure to tell everyone about it, so that I would have extra accountability for training/completing it. There's nothing like motivation knowing that you will eventually have to run 13.1 miles.
There's a great one on 4/25 in Central Park. It's women only too, which is an added plus. Check it out on nyrr.org.

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
I almost posted a similar topic yesterday. I have been trying to get the motivation to start working out, but always find an excuse out of it because i HATE running. I used to do yoga which was wonderful and helped me to lose weight and tone. I wish I could start doing that again, but with the wedding I just cant afford to pay the high prices. I li9ked your idea for a motivation board. Maybe if we talk about the little steps we make towards our wedding day goals we will feel supported and motivated by other girls' small steps and successes.

If you want an inexpensive gym, try Planet Fitness. I belong to it and I love it!!!! I don't really use machines. i just use the cardio equipment and free weights.
Since I started dating FH I lost close to 40 lbs. I've been eating A LOT healthier and work out routinely. I hate working out, but when I see the results, it motivates me to work out even harder.
I'll be honest, I used to starve myself to lose the weight, and did it for almost 2 years. I lost weight, but was miserable when I did eat. I consulted a trainer and a doctor and got the help I needed. (Thank God!)
I'm the same weight I was then, but I'm doing it in a healthier way.
A little dream of mine is to become a fitness model....Not like those crazy bulky women that have pecs and stuff, but something along the lines of Jillian Michaels. (Don't Laugh) hehe
I hope my story motivates people!!!
And if you have any questions, FM me!!!

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
Theres a thread on 2010 boards, something about 'what did you do today?' where everyone writes what they did to be healthier/more fit that day. Any day my butt doesnt wanna go to the gym, I read it, and reading that others are doing stuff to be active always seems to push me to go to the gym. I don't want to be 'that lazy person'...maybe we should start one here on the 11 boards. Hmmmm I'm going to do it right now.

Re: I need motivation from my fellow 2011er's
Hii 2011 brides..
I have struggled with my weight all my life. (any diet you name i've tried it) Some worked but nothing really did it for me. I finally went to a great diet doctor in dix Hills. His name is Dr. Romero. I swear by his program & he will truly get you to lose weight & teach you how to eat healty for life. I continue to go to him and he constantly tweaks my diet program.
