I need opinions...

I am sort of a newbie on here, I have been lurking for some time...but I have a question. I really wanted to have my wedding on the water, but everywhere we looked was expensive for our budget. I booked Tall Grass CC...one of the lessings..which I loved, and fit into our budget very nicely. I really like the beach theme, but since it isn't on the beach, is it appropriate to go with that theme? I had decided not to, but I really like the beach idea, and I have a lot of ideas for centerpieces, and favors for that theme. Well...let me know what you think?

Tall grass is Gorgeous ! i wish i would have known about it before i booked since it fit better in my budget (dont get me wrong i LOVE MG) anyway i think u can totally have the beach theme! WHY NOT?? my place is all gardnes and flowers and im doing a beach theme b.c its my own touch i grew up on the water and at the beach! its your day do what makes you happy!!!

Well...not that I have any set ideas...but I have come across a few centerpieces that I love. I wanted to do a lot of candles. Also...this is a great website for beach theme favors...http://www.mybeachfavors.com/.

sunset harbour in patchogue is absolutly beautiful. and its right on the great south bay. on the dock!

You can do whatever you want for your wedding! Beach themes are great I can help find some ideas for you!! Also have you thought of checking out The Riviera in Massepequa? They are on the water. I haven't been there but I hear they are reasonable in price and include a lot with that price. I know someone getting married there in March.

I live right by Sunset Harbor, and I have been to many school functions there, as well as a wedding. I like it there, and I heard they were reasonable, butttt I didn't really want to have my wedding there. I did not check out the Riviera...I am not sure if that RH hall is to far away from my home...but I heard they were reasonable. Thanks so much girls...I am pretty sure I am going to do the beach theme though...in fact we went to the beach last night (long story), and I was obsessed with finding shells for my cp....ha ha! It was fun though!

Hey Kristen! I agree about Sunset Harbor it isnt the same as half the places you look at.

Did you check out Lombardis on the Sound? and by the way you can rent fireworks out there! I think that would be so cool! Get a barge out there.

Depends on how big your wedding is though I heard that Lombaris on the Sound is tight after 180

What about getting married on Fire Island and renting out a house for the reception there are so many beach houses there that may be big enough

DId you check out Atlantica in Southhampton? Im sure that is expensive though.

Anyway you do it you can do a beach theme. ehere are you getting your photos done after the cerremony?

Hey...thanks for the reply. We actually looked at Atlantica...it was very expensive for a summer wedding, but it was gorgeous...nothing topped it. We thought about fire island...actually we have parked our boat over at Davis Park since I was a baby, and I have seen weddings on the beach, and receptions at the Casino bar over there...not really what I was looking for....but I inquired nonetheless, and no one got back to me. I should have looked into the beach house, but I felt it would be a lot of work...getting a caterer, tent, linens...tables....ship it over there...I don't know...I should really look into it though. I just had to put my dog to sleep this morning...it was my baby (well, he was almost 13)...but he was the best dog, and wedding stuff seems blah right now. I will update you and let you know what happens!! Thanks for the input!
