I need some Ebay help!

I have Ugg boots listed for sale and my auction ends in 5 hours. However, someone emailed me who said that she is willing to pay my reserve price (which hasn't been met yet). She lives here on LI, but my question is, what about the person with the highest bid so far? How does it work? Can I cancel the auction? Please help!

Well being the reserve price has not been met, you can contact the highest bidder and let them know what price you really wanted. If they say no thanks, contact the person who is willing to buy.

but aren't I obligated to sell it to the highest bidder that placed a bid through ebay?

So what should i do now? Should I contact the highest bidder on ebay and see if they are willing to meet my reserve price?

How about you let the auction end. If the reserve price is met and the aution rises above that then I would sell it to the highest bidder. If not I would sell it to the person that said they would pay your reserve.

Email the person and tell her that you are waiting for the auction to end, and that after the auction ends you will contact her if she wants the boots.

I would not end the auction and deal with someone out of EBAY...You are just asking for trouble.

I have done it before, and I got ripped off....Someone told me they were interested in a certain Item that I had on ebay...Told me the price he would pay me, and I said ok. I ended the auction that had bidding on it, but the reserve wasnt met and the guy never paid me...I had to relist the item....
