Today is FH and my 2 year anniversary. Things have been rough lately. Today I got paid and my paycheck is more than I thought. Do you think I should surprise him and take him out to dinner or save the money because we have been struggling?
TIA

If it were me I would skip the dinner - I know the 2 of you have been stressed about money lately. Order in with a candlelight dinner or cook him a nice romantic dinner at home...

why don't you take him out to dinner but not go anywhere that is too expensive. maybe like outback or something! then save whatever money that you have left. hth!

Save the money, but still do something unexpected... order in and light candles, like Stacey said!

OMG... Melissa, we share the same anniversary! Only I got you beat by 4 years!! LOL I posted about our anny earlier today.
Anyway, to help you out, I would definitely try to make it a special romantic night in, get some chinese food, set the table really nice and light candles and just enjoy a quiet night together and it will be hard, but try not to talk about money, take a break from the stress for one night.
Hope you have a great night!! Happy Anniversary!

def save the money. cuz then when $ talk comes up again, you can nonchallantly say that you saved it.
but def do something special and romantic....maybe eat while watching a movie...and of course, get a card!

How about take him out for dessert? That way you two are still getting out of the house but not paying for a full meal.

Re: i need some quick advice
I'd skip the dinner and save the money, and spend a little bit of it on something romantic but not pricey... maybe candles, snacks he likes, a nice movie, etc
