I would Love to hear your suggestions on your favorite bridal books (that have great, creative ideas for brides, ways to personalize your wedding, etc).

Re: I Need Some Wedding Book Suggestions, Please!
I'm hoping to get a few suggestions before I hit the bookstore tonight. After searching a bit online, these books seem interesting:
1) Bridal Bargains: Secrets to Throwing a Fantastic Wedding on a Realistic Budget - Denise Fields, Alan Fields
2) Weddings For Dummies® - Marcy Blum
3) The Best of Martha Stewart Living : Weddings - Martha Stewart
4) Bridal Guide Magazine's How to Plan the Perfect Wedding Without Going Broke - Diane Forden
5) The Perfect Wedding Reception : Stylish Ideas For Every Season - Maria McBride Mellinger
Do any of you ladies have any of these books? Did you like them?
Thanks!

I have Bridal Bargains. One of my pt.'s gave it to me. She highly recommended it. One of her daughter's read it while she was planning for her wedding. I just got it, so I've only skimmed through a few pages. From what I've read so far, there seems to be a lot of helpful pointers.

I have a suggestion for a book, not necessarily pertaining to weddings, but the after-wedding.....'Couplehood' by Paul Reiser. I read the entire book during a business trip to Columbus, OH and laughed so hard at times. I highly recommend it to all soon to be married couples and those who already living together!!

I have the best book and its free, go into a statefarm and they give the working woman's wedding planner away for free. I think its really the only book you need. It has a ton of worksheets and tips. THe bridal bargin book was good too. Also, you can download stuff from the knot to read. I bought a few books on ebay- picked up a few tips, but don't think any of them were really worth it. I like the mags better.

I have these: 1) Bridal Bargains: Secrets to Throwing a Fantastic Wedding on a Realistic Budget - Denise Fields, Alan Fields 2) Weddings For Dummies® - Marcy Blum 3) The Best of Martha Stewart Living : Weddings - Martha Stewart
The first two are pretty good, but I'm always like where the Hell are they planning weddings? I mean, they have suggestions like ask a friend to take the photos to save money, or set up the reception decorations the night before. I mean, I think both books are pretty helpful, but it would be more helpful if I lived somewhere like Kansas. The bridal bargains goes into detail about each gown designer, bridal and bridesmaid, and it has quite a few good tips on other things as well. For some reason, I remember liking the Weddings for dummies better though. I think it's a waste to buy either if you've done a bit of planning already though. As for the Martha book, it was fairly expensive, and it doesn't have many ideas in it. Truthfully, I think there are more ideas in her magazines. (I mean like one magazine has more ideas than that whole book) The book has very few pictures, and even less directions on how to make things. I was very disappointed. Also, it's a big hardcover book, not very good for traveling. If you're looking for a book about designing weddings, look into Colin Cowie, or Preston Bailey, they both do beautiful things.

The artful bride : simple, handmade wedding projects by April L. Paffrath and Laura McFadden. Really nice and unique wedding projects. I got the idea for my guest hotel bags from this book.
For some fiction books...
Shopaholic Ties the Knot by Sophie Kinsella
Diary of a Mad Bride by Laura Wolf
Bridezilla : true tales from etiquette hell! by Noe Spaemme

Thank you so much ladies!! All of your suggestions are terrific!! I'm printing them out now and will bring them to the bookstore with me. I think I'll buy at least two or three - it's going to be so hard to choose! The books will definitely make my trip a whole lot nicer! (I hate flying, and am going alone, and all of this storm business is not helping!)
Thank you again! I can't wait to start reading them!
