I need to get my carpets cleaned....any recommendations?

I live in Queens and would like to get two rooms in my apt cleaned. I would also like to get the hallways cleaned for my landlord since they are older than him (he's 85) and they skeeve the hell out of me. Honestly someone would have to come with a heavy duty vacuum so suck up all the crap first in those hallways before they could even clean them....I tried to vacuum for him once and my vacuum hose got clogged . Also, any idea how much this might cost?
