I NEED TO OUT MARIAH CAREY!!! VENT/RANT

UGH!!! I hate that she LIES!!!! - caught the beginning of the E True Hollywood Story!!!

I'm sure that you all know that she is from LI...well I grew up in the same town...my sister was a school year behind her...
My sister was born Feb 1970...and Mariah claims that she was born March 1970!!! that is impossible!!!

and to make things interesting...here is the story my sister tells...they had art together (mixed grades)...someone asked her what year she was born and she said 1970...well everyone knew that was impossible...being her grade...and she told them that she didn't want to be associated with the 60s!!!????


Ok...so why am I freaking out about this? well I was a little younger...and when she first made it big she told everyone that she grew up in Brooklyn!! Newsday called her on her lies...then she decided that she needed to use the bathroom and pulled into the HS in her LIMO (why would you stop in the HS to go to the bathroom?) - well b/c of the lies...she was not liked at all by the students in my school...and the entrance of the school walks into the cafeteria...and people started throwing food at her...


it doesn't end there...I just heard (which really upset me) on THS that she was not accepted in school b/c she was mixed race!!!!! WTF!!! I grew up in a pretty racially/ethnically mixed area...there was every race AND religion AND ethnicity in my school...WHy would she say these things about my town? and specifically my peers?!!! especially since I remember my sister raving about her voice in jr high...I know we are all self conscious growing up...but why do we have to publicly denounce a town and the people in it??!!!



SO I JUST WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT SHE WAS BORN IN 1969 NOT 1970!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard that too, she was not liked. Heard she was smelly.

I could though understand, people not totally accepting mix-racial. when I was in school, it was not really at common, as it is not. The area can be a little snobby

don't get me wrong, I grew up in NPT, and sorry to offend anyone, but I'll be the first to admit the north shore, just like some areas of the south shore act like their poop don't stink. (still love north shore better )

Seriously?! How far back was this?
I grew up on the North Shore in Nassau and never saw ANY of that! Maybe my town was a bit more accepting.....

Ahhhh...thanks for the clarification.

I am often disturbed by her attire (if you can call it that). Very ill-fitting and not very flattering - IMO. She could take a few tips from Kate Hudson!

Well, I graduated high schoold in 1994, and I can remember it around elementary, so what's that??? 80s

Don't get me wronge, I love NPT. But it always amazed me that no one left there to meet other people. I really hope college changed that for people.

Jenny I also think (as you known fellow NPTer here too) that Greenlawn and a lot of Harborfields had far more diversity than Northport did/ does. I mean how long have they been fighting that low income housing by the high school since I was in elementary school. I also remember when a couple of real estate agencies got in trouble because they would not show any house to african americans that was in the NPT/ENPT school district. They would only show them house that would be Elwood and Commack districts. That might be the reason that Erica remembers it one way and your remember it differently.
