I need to talk to mom about this...balance is driving me up a wall!!!!
I have to address my mom on a touchy subject, although these days, everything seems like a touchy subject.
We rent an apartment from her in a house that she owns but doesnt live in. But she lives 2 blocks away and is always here since the death in the family, which is fine but sometimes things get out of control.
Yesterday I fell asleep in the afternoon for a little while and she called me and I didnt hear the phone. When I woke up and called her she was all uptight and angry asking me why I didnt answer the phone, where was I , what was I doing. She wasnt calling because she needed anything, she just wanted to see what I was doing.
I am 27 and a married woman. I could have been anywhere or doing anything ( ) but she doesnt realize this. It is starting to get on my dh's nerves even though he has been so patient and understanding with everything.
I need to address this issue with her but she is so sensitive, I dont want her to take it the wrong way but I dont want it affecting my marriage either. The balance drives me up a wall! I am always in the middle. Any ideas on how to address this without her hurting her feelings??

thats a tough one.
Without knowing your mom, its hard to make suggestions. But I agree that sits best to be open and honest with her now, before it starts causing serious problems.

I don't know what to say. I think your mom is very sensitive right now, and I don't think there is any way for you to avoid hurting her feelings or upsetting her in some way by bringing this up. But you DO need to bring it up sooner rather than later, because it's not fair to you to try to balance things all the time. It's just too stressful. Trying to keep your DH happy, and trying to keep your Mom happy just won't work, and YOU will be the unhappy one.
I really wish things would get better for you soon... You've just had SO much these past few months.
