ok so i went to the RH where i wanted to book. they said they will have the date on hold for me since i told them them i was definitely going to sign the contract. i go there on monday & tells me he booked the date! i was like what!!!! i didnt drive 45 minutes to get here. he said he called me over the weekend to tell me someone wanted the date. i said i didnt get no phone call. so i asked hat number did u call. he mentioned a number but wasnt mine!!! not only did he get the number wrong but he didnt even know my name!! it was weird how he called me last week with the right number!!! sorry just had to vent! so i am going to look at other halls tomorrow!!

OMG - I am so sorry!!! That really bites!
Just keep telling yourself that it wasn't supposed to be there and it's their loss!!!

That is horrible! What bad service. In a way it's better you didn't go through with booking because if he didn't even remember your name and not have the right number.

i'm looking for a hall that has nice gardens, great service, staff, probably in nassau or suffolk but not too far east. sat night in may. room that can fit 200+, great food, isnt way expensive

that stinks!! maybe its a sign you shouldnt be have your wedding there.. this guy doesn't seem to be on top of things...

We visited the Swan Club - it was gorgeous - the gardens were really pretty!!! We just fell in love with the Winter Garden Pavillion at the Fox Hollow - but the Swan Club was our second choice!

OMG that's horrible! I'm sooo sorry! I was going to suggest the Swan Club b/c their gardens are beautiful and the service was really good as well (I went to a wedding there this past May!). I hope that wasn't the place you were talking about! Good luck. Can't wait to hear where you book!

i'm sorry! i hate when people do crappy shady things it's just not right. but look at it this way, do you really want to have your wedding at a place that would stoop to that level just to book a date?? you're better off!

Sorry to hear that. Sounds pretty shady -- the person who booked was probably willing to pay more money and they didnt' want to lose out on it. You are better off.
Not sure where this happened to you but what about Westbury Manor.

we only had the date on hold for 2 days- i figured someone else paid more or they had cash up front. i realize i am better off. i'm thought about the swan club but they are booked. i am going to look at the harbor club- i know it doesnt have gardens but i read some good reviews. i am also thinking about jericho terrace
