I need to vent about my job...
I consider myself one of the more 'patient' IT people here...but today has just been one of those days!!!
I just went to answer a service call where the user said her hard drive was crunching and making loud unbearable noises, the floppy drive didn't work, the CD-Rom drive doesn't work, her internet doesn't work, and she 'can't find anyone' in the company email address book.
So, I show up and guess what: the floppy drive works perfectly, as does the CD-ROM, as does the internet, and the hard drive is quiet as a mouse. The address book?? She was misspelling the name of the ONE person she was searching for (I love how being unable to find ONE person becomes 'unable to find ANYONE')![]()

And yes, I've heard it a million times: 'oh, of course now that you're here it's not doing it!' Suuuuuurrreeeee.![]()

Oh and the best part - now this woman INSISTS that I DO something to 'fix' her computer. I can't FIX IT IF THERE'S NOTHING WRONG LADY!!!! And there shouldn't be because it's only about 2 months old!!!
Grrrr..... it's just REALLY annoying when I have to waste my time responding to calls that are either training issues (to put it politely) or could have been resolved by rebooting the computer!!!
