I got sticker shock today. Got any recommendations for windows?

I don't know about their prices, but 2 of my neighbors used Diamond this summer. They look really nice.

We used Diamond Windows. The owner is a family friend. We were really pleased. They installed 21 windows in one day. I haven't had any problems and they gave us the lowest price. We had really bad experiences with Lowes and Home Depot so I would avoid them.

thanks. I went to Nassau Door and Window and although they were very informative, I almost fell over when they quoted me $5k for four windows with installation. Now that may be the price and they were Andersens but I just want to make sure.

Home Depot did not impress me.

Be careful with the Andersons. We decided against them because you have to paint the trim. They are good if you want to stain them, but if you are painting them white it is a waste. Vinyl are a lot easier to care for.

The andersens that are on my whole house are not wood. I would have to get the same windows in order to keep the asthetics of the house since all the windows should look the same. Unless of course that's a load of BS.

the insides are but the outsides are steel or aluminum. I tried that number for Diamond and it's a financial company..can you check the number again for me?

andersons come in either wood or pre-finished white.....sometime the pre-finished looiks a little 'fake' to me though

so far we have been buying the wood and painting them and they look terrrific thus far
