I need your advice, please!

I need your advice, please!

So here's the quick run down, and maybe part of it is our fault for not doing our due diligence and getting everything in writing.

When we met w/ our RH we were told part of the ceremony fee meant that we can choose the flowers we want as well as colors. For our menu, we were told everything is included and we did not need to make any decisions

Fast forward...we learn that for the flowers, we have no choice in the kinds of flowers, just that we can put in a request for 'colors.' So that basically means on the day of I will find out what the flowers actually look like.

And, for the menu, instead of having about 9+ selections for entree, we only have 4 or 5 in total I forget which one.

I just called my BM to explain my concerns, and his basic response was I'm sorry you misunderstood but that's how it is I'm sure you will still be happy.

UGH!!! Any advice someone can provide? I'm very tempted to switch BM's at this point.

I'm also annoyed because this is the first real stress I've had in this wedding planning process :(

Was anything that was promised in the first meeting put in writing? In the contract or in your notes? I would speak with someone higher up than him and see what you can do. I think it's ridiculous that you won't know what kinds of flowers you will have, just color. What if you are allergic to one or not the other or something. They need to give you more than that.

Are there other brides on here who have gotten married at your RH? Maybe you can see what their ceremony flowers looked like to see if you like them or at least get an idea of what kind of flowers are in them?

Did you give your deposit already? and was any of that in the contract?

im sure there are pictures floating around somewhere of the flowers, I wouldnt worry too much.

as far as the menu, I would always expect to have to make a decision on food. switching your BM will not change that, especially if its company policy.

when you signed the contract did you not notice that there was no mention of it anywhere? was there a statment that 'final menu selection due..(whenever). That would make my radar go up right there.

I think we were just so excited w/ the whole process, and part of the sell in was that we get so much food bla bla bla. We probably should have been more detailed in terms of what we asked. I noticed the menu thing a few days ago when I looked at the menu stuff they gave us and under each type of thing (i.e. beef) it said 'Please select one'

I can deal w/ the menu thing because there will be enough food, but the flower thing is getting to me the most because I really want the ceremony room to look nice and not knowing what it will look like is bugging me...I'll talk to them again in a few weeks when we go to finalize things and see how it goes. I'm just worried I'll have to spend more money on flowers to make the room look how I want. Ah well...

Yeah we've already made 2 payments...And the contract juts says the deluxe menu is included, but at closer look I noticed the menu says select one under each...I guess that's my fault then...:/

Nope it just says that the flowers are included, but nothing about us only being able to select the flowers.

This is what I get for not asking too many questions :(

That's what we all thought when we were looking at your menus!! The food will be fine, see if you can investigate or ask them who the florist will be providing the flowers. That way you can call the florist directly and ask them the colors you want..

Or give them a little tip and tell them to make it how you want it without the RH ever knowing...

Don't worry about it!! It will all work out!!

Great minds think alike! I found out who does the flowers - so I'm tempted to do that

ITA! how long ago was that meeting? was it with the BM that u have now? I'm sure they can at least tell u what kind of flowers they'll use, just like another poster said earlier what about if u or somebody in the wedding is allergic to the flowers they're using? make sure to ask them and be persistent otherwise they'll take it lightly
